AKKAR 2.4.6 has been released. This release only adds one small but highly requested function: password recovery.
Grab it from the Download-page.
Oh, and Akkar 3.x will come. It'll be later than originally intended (duh), but it will come. Just you wait. For a while longer. |

"I'm not dead!"
I'm painfully aware that there's been a severe lack of updates lately, and that we're way behind schedule - in so far as any schedule actually exists - but the rumour of our demise are greatly... yea, ok. Suffice to say, the project is not dead, just sort of dozing in the corner, but it's likely to wake up very soon |

Apparently, a bug in the forum software has prevented users from posting messages (as well as preventing them to log out, and preventing me from using the admin-functions).
I've enabled a workaround for this issue now, so hopefully everything should be back to normal.
If anyone feels that fixing this took a long time, then that's probably true, as nobody have notified me of any problems with the forum, and I only found out myself just now (I don't start a lot of threads these days, I only check the forum daily for new posts, but that didn't trigger this issue).
If anyone are still having problems posting or using the forum in any way, please send me an e-mail at roy (at) akkar (dot) info, and let me know your forum username, and I'll look into it. |

Even though it's obvious enough, I'd like to point out that KALMAR (and the upcoming version of AKKAR) have been delayed further. There simply isn't enough time in a single day for me to get everything done, and developement has had to take the back seat for a while. This doesn't mean there is no progress, it only means progress is slower than what was originally anticipated, but I'll be trying to get some people to help test KALMAR very soon, and after a short period of testing (and fixing the bugs this will no doubt reveal), it will be released. |

Due to my crappy (ex-)ISP killing my connection before they were supposed to, and refuse to turn it back on, the release of KALMAR has been delayed slightly. Though I didn't promise a November release, that was my goal, but it's now apparent that I will not make this goal.
I'm now aiming for an early-to-mid-December release instead. |

Thanks to recent generous donations to the project, we now have a domain and a new webhost. This is especially nice for forum users, as this host is able to send email messages when someone replies to your posts and such things (this was disabled on SourceForge's webserver du to some people absuing it to send spam in the past). And, of course, having our own domain is always cool |

AKKAR 2.4.1 is released. This release fixes a stupid bug that would make the installation fail when choosing English language. In addition, some bugs related to Windows-installations on IIS have been fixed. Download it here. |

AKKAR 2.4.0 is released! This is what used to be called 2.2.6, but there's enough changes to warrant a 2.4.0 instead. Most of the changes are internal, and so the functionality has not changed significantly. The new release can - as usual - be downloaded here. |

Even though the news are few and far between, that doesn't mean nothing is going on with the project itself Version 2.2.6 is right around the corner, and once that is done, developement towards 3.0 will start. You can read more about this here. |

For some weird reason the download-link on the webpage hasn't been working for a while. SourceForge apparently made some changes to the server that made it break, but it should work again now. |

It took longer than expected, but the version-fix for new installations of AKKAR 2.2.3 is now available here. Get the file (installed_2.2.3_versionfix zip or tar.gz), unarchive it, put upgrade.php into your main AKKAR-directory and open your AKKAR site. The rest should take care of itself. |

An installation-specific bug for AKKAR 2.2.3 has surfaced - it'll install as version 2.2.2 (although the actual installed version will still be 2.2.3). See this post for more information. |

AKKAR 2.2.2 is ready with a couple of cosmetic bugfixes. Unfortunately, SourceForge has yet again managed to break the file upload system, so I'm unable to release the package at this time. Hopefully it won't take long before it's fixed. |

SourceForge has fixed their server, and AKKAR 2.2.1 is now available for download. |

Saturday January 15. 2005 |
A couple of bugs have surfaced in AKKAR 2.2.0, and release 2.2.1 is almost ready. The most severe of the bugs is the fact that HTML-generated registration forms fail on submission. Since SourceForge's upload-server is out of diskspace (!?) I can't put out a new release just yet (I'm not allowed to release packages for direct download on this webpage), but hopefully they'll fix it soon(tm). |

AKKAR 2.2 is ready for download. View the changelog here, and/or download here.
This version offers some substantial changes, and since I've had nowhere near as much help testing it as I had for the RAsLAV 2.0 release, there is a real danger of bugs being present. They should however not be critical or application-breaking, but if you find any - small and large alike - please submit them here as soon as possible. For other issues, please use the forums. If anyone translates AKKAR to other languages, I would appreciate if they e-mailed me the language-file so that I can include it in the next release. Doing so will get you fame and fortune provided by the contributors-page |

Just a small update: AKKAR 2.2 is right around the corner. I've spent many hours the past week ironing out bugs and brushing up the features, and I just want to test it a bit more before I'm satisfied enough to release it. So stay tuned - not long now |

Monday December 20. 2004 |
The project has been moved to SourceForge. This may not matter much - atleast not yet - but eventually it might improve certain management aspects of the developement, especially for reporting bugs and such. Time will tell. For now, AKKAR 2.2 is still on schedule for an early January release, but first it's christmas and all the things that comes with that |

RAsLAV is dead - long live AKKAR!
The project has been renamed and has gone international. The next release, scheduled for early January 2005, will feature a full english language option with an easy translatable language-file so that you'll be able to get AKKAR in any language you want (provided you - or anyone else - are able to translate it from english, obviously). |
